What are the membership requirements?

Prospective members must have a college degree and must be sponsored by a member, and seconded by two other members of the Club.

How long does the membership application process take?

After a complete application (along with the sponsoring and seconding letters) is turned in, the application process takes one to two months and concludes with the applicant attending an Admissions Committee cocktail party.

What are the benefits of membership?

Members enjoy many social benefits, including planned events for the membership, exceptional lunch and dinner dining opportunities, a fitness area, billiards tournaments, singles and doubles squash facilities and more. Where are you located?

We are located at the corner of 17th and Sherman Street, directly across the street from the Central Presbyterian Church. Click here to see a map.

How do I park at The University Club?

Parking for events at The University Club is available at the ABM Parking Systems surface lot at 1750 Sherman Street. This lot, visible from the front entrance, is located 100 yards north of the University Club on Sherman Street, on the east side of the street. Parking is complimentary most evenings and weekends and space is limited, parking is not guaranteed. 

Parking on all streets surrounding The University Club is free after 6:00 p.m. during the week and free all day on the weekends.

Another public surface lot is located 50 yards south of the University Club operated by STAR PARK. This lot has a fee of $5.00 after 5:00 p.m. weekdays and $5.00 all day on weekends. Payment must be made at the lot's self-service unit. The University Club will not be responsible for parking tickets issued in this lot. Please follow instructions posted at the entrance located at 16th Street and Sherman.

What is your dress code?

All persons using the Club House shall dress appropriately. Men are encouraged to wear coats and ties and women are encouraged to wear comparable attire; however, casual business attire is acceptable. Denim may be worn in the Members' Bar and on the Terrace. Coats are required in the Main Dining Room for dinner. Shorts, t-shirts, athletic apparel, tennis shoes and other similar clothes are acceptable only in the athletic facilities on the fourth floor.

What areas of the club are handicapped accessible?

The First Floor of the Club is handicapped accessible through the ramp on the 17th Street entrance of the Clubhouse. We have an elevator that reaches the 2nd floor level of the Clubhouse as well. All dining rooms of the club are handicapped accessible.

Is there a designated smoking area at the Club?

Members and guests may smoke on the Terrace on the second floor of the clubhouse.

What is the cell phone policy?

Talking on cell phones is prohibited in the clubhouse and all phones must be turned to silent. Members and guests may take photos and use internet functions with smartphones.

Do you have wireless access available at the Club?

Yes, we have wireless capabilities throughout the clubhouse.

Where can I use my laptop?

We have a designated area in the club, our Library, which is set for business center use and features a computer for members’ use. People often choose to use this room for business purposes, yet you may use your laptop in other public areas of the club as well.

Can I bring guests to the club?

Yes! Guests are welcomed in the clubhouse for dining, club events and for matchups in squash and pool.

What are the hours of the Front Desk receptionist?

The Front Desk is attended by a receptionist Monday through Friday, from 10am until 6:30pm. An automated phone system directs calls at other times of the week.

How do I book an event?
